Language Arts

1. Independent Reading for Fifteen Minutes.

2. Today we read the chapter "Learning the Game" (pgs. 84-95) of The Circuit. As we read the chapter, we will stop to discuss the text.

3. If there is time, you will imput more vocabulary words to your list. Can be found in your Google Classroom.

Social Studies


1. CNN News Today they will discuss about a river of garbage in Lebanon and the reason why we have "leap" years.

2. Check your Progress. Answer questions from Section 1: "The Origins of Buddhism" these can be found in your Google Classroom.

3. If there is time, work on vocabulary for section 1. Can be found in your Google Classroom.

HW: Read at least 30 minutes at home and IF you have missing assignments you should work on some as well. 


5th per. - Social Studies

1. CNN Student News - "A deadline approaches in a case between the U.S. government and Apple, a French law targets food waste, and a Character Study features a young cancer survivor".

2. Chapter 7 - Hinduism Quiz

3. Journal Write -> Please access it by going to your Language Arts Google Classroom. 

4. Guided Reading Activity - We will continue along and read the next chapter in The Circuit Cotton Shack. 

HW: Read at least 30 mins. at home. If you didn't finish your Journal Write assignment please do so for homework. Also, continue working on any late/missing assignments. 



5th per. - Social Studies
1. CNN Student News - "A historic cyclone strikes Fiji, a mountain of trash towers over Mumbai, researchers try to document Grevy's zebras, and we update the U.S. presidential race".

2. Study Hall period - you will have a quiz tomorrow! We will take the rest of the period to wrap up any questions and assignments for Chapter 7 - Hinduism.

2. Academic Free Choice - you have the rest of the period to work on ANY current OR missing assignment OR reading log OR all! Use this time wisely!

5th per. - Social Studies

1. CNN Student News - Today's show covers tension in the South China Sea, a controversial case involving a terrorist's iPhone, and a Pacific fault that concerns American scientists.

2. Watch this interview with Sanjay Patel, an Indian American artist who works at Pixar and invented the short film, "Sanya's Superteam". 




3. Read How Ganesh Got His Elephant Head p. 202-203. Once you are done, there is an assignment that goes with this reading in your Social Studies Google Classroom folder.

HW: Complete any work from the week. If you are missing assignments, you definitely have homework!
