1. Independent Reading for Fifteen Minutes.

2. Today we read the chapter "Learning the Game" (pgs. 84-95) of The Circuit. As we read the chapter, we will stop to discuss the text.

3. If there is time, you will imput more vocabulary words to your list. Can be found in your Google Classroom.

Social Studies


1. CNN News Today they will discuss about a river of garbage in Lebanon and the reason why we have "leap" years.

2. Check your Progress. Answer questions from Section 1: "The Origins of Buddhism" these can be found in your Google Classroom.

3. If there is time, work on vocabulary for section 1. Can be found in your Google Classroom.

2. Watch this interview with Sanjay Patel, an Indian American artist who works at Pixar and invented the short film, "Sanya's Superteam". 




3. Read How Ganesh Got His Elephant Head p. 202-203. Once you are done, there is an assignment that goes with this reading in your Social Studies Google Classroom folder.

HW: Complete any work from the week. If you are missing assignments, you definitely have homework!

      1. CNN Student NewsVenture into the forest of Uganda, witness the world's largest human migration, get the results of the Iowa caucuses, and hear a woodchuck's weather forecast.

      2. Ch. 6 Section 3 - India’s Vedic Age

      Today we are going to continue to learn about the impact the Aryans had on ancient and modern India. We will read about what their lives were like and some of their early religious beliefs (which would later become part of the foundation of the religion of Hinduism). Specifically, we will try to understand the Varna system (which the caste system evolved from).

      I've posted your assignment in your Social Studies Google Classroom. READ the short excerpt (section) and then complete the questions that follow. If you have to re-read something do it! Make sure it makes sense to you!
